Asteris Peltekis is appointed, by decision of the Ministry of Culture, the new artistic director of the State Theater of Northern Greece (KTHBE).
According to the relevant Government Gazette, which bears yesterday’s date and sheet number 224, the term of the actor, director and playwright will be three years.
Asteris Peltekis told Voria.gr that he is happy to be taking over the position of artistic director at the State Theater of Northern Greece, adding, however, that his joy “is overshadowed by the clouds of war in our neighborhood, which is why my first repertoire will include anti-war works.” and texts that will speak of peace. “
It is recalled that his name was unanimously decided by the five-member committee for the evaluation of candidacies.
As he himself told Voria.gr, the deputy artistic director will also come from KTHBE, and is already in contact with him, without revealing his name.
“I am very happy to assume the position of artistic director at KTHBE, a theater where I became a man as an actor and as a person, a very favorite place with remarkable potential”, said Mr. Peltekis and added that “of course my joy is overshadowed by his clouds “In Ukraine, that is why the theater will function as a weapon and will be placed in an anti-war line with a repertoire that will concern peace, humanism and man.”
