Six months after Liam Payne’s death, a girlfriend remembers last conversation with singer

Days before Liam Payne died in October 2024, the singer’s girlfriend stated that she had a farewell to need to leave Argentina earlier than him.

The former member of the band One Direction fell from the balcony of the hotel where he was staying after spending a few days in the country with Kate Cassidy and Niall Horan, bandmate.

“On our last day, we woke up, had a wonderful breakfast, we ride a horse. My flight was later,” he said in an interview with Podcast on Purpose. The influencer said the couple was about to start a new stage together with the purchase of a home in the United States.

“My car was in the garage and we went back to the hotel, took my suitcase and sat on the couch. I kept talking nonstop about how much I loved him and how much he meant to me. He laughed, interrupted me and said, ‘Kate, you’ll lose your flight. You are acting as if it were the last time you will see me.'”

In the interview, she said that despite pain with Liam’s death, she also feels peace for the way he said goodbye to him.

“Just looking back and knowing that this was really the last time I could see him again is so chilling. It was so sincere, so beautiful.”

Toxicological tests indicated high concentration of alcohol in the singer’s blood, as well as cocaine and antidepressants.
