Regina Duarte tells Bial that she no longer wants to decorate texts

Regina Duarte stated in an interview with Pedro Bial, shown early in the early hours of Tuesday (22), that she no longer wants to decorate texts after 60 years of career on television and, therefore, would only accept to participate in Aguinaldo Silva’s next soap opera, “Three Graces”, if she had not to say anything.

“I did it my whole life. I worked 24 hours a day: 12 recording and 12 decorating,” he said. “Mudinha is an interesting proposal,” he joked.

Participation in Conversation with Bial reinforces Globo’s rapprochement movement with the actress, in a shaken relationship since the exit of the artist in 2020, to take over the special secretary of culture of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

Called Queen by Bial, Regina spoke little about her support to the former president. The motto of the conversation was the 40th anniversary of “Roque Santeiro”, a soap opera that marked the time by satirizing the political and commercial exploitation of the popular faith and was censored in its first version in 1975.

“It’s a way of recovering this important relationship in my life,” Regina admitted when asked about the “return of her lavish daughter.” The 2025 season of conversation with Bial honors Globo’s 60th anniversary.

In the studio, the actress reviewed striking scenes from widow Porcina, protagonist of “Roque Santeiro”, and revealed disagreements and regrets about one of the most iconic characters in the history of soap operas.

“Today I would cut 80% of Porcina’s shouting. I didn’t need to, I don’t know why I invented this shout,” he said. “I saw the cameras laughing, I thought I was pleasing, I started screaming louder and lighter and lost the notion.”

Regina also does not like the famous scene in which Sinhozinho Malta, played by Lima Duarte, licks the hand of Porcina made a puppy. And I preferred that the widow had gone with Roque Santeiro, in what was contradicted by the author, Dias Gomes.

The actress praised the work of Taís Araújo in the remake of “Vale Tudo”, in the role of Raquel, the mother of villain Maria de Fátima, lived by Regina in the first version. The two exchanged loving messages before the debut.

“She’s very well. She’s a great actress. I said: relax and release. It’s an amusement park.”

“Censorship is harmful to art. Everyone who chooses what he wants to follow, what he wants to praise,” said the actress.

Bial made a relationship between censorship and attacks Regina received by supporting Bolsonaro and participating in the former president’s government.
