Sony Pictures released the first trailer for the new franchise movie “I know what you did last summer.” The feature marks the return of protagonists Jennifer Love Hewitt (Julie James) and Freddie Prinze Jr. (Ray Bronson) and already has the debut scheduled in theaters: July 18, 2025.
The story accompanies Julie and Ray, now adults, advising a new group of young people who are beginning to be pursued by a mysterious killer, similar to past events. They ask for help to the two survivors of the legendary Southport massacre of 1997 to be able to find the criminal in series.
The production, which is directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (“Justiceiras”) and co-rote signed by Sam Lansky, ignores the events of the third movie and the TV series, resuming the narrative line of the saga’s second feature, released in 1998.
In the first movie (1997), four friends accidentally run over a man and throw his body into the sea, believing he got rid of the problem. A year later, they receive an anonymous letter with the message: “I know what you did last summer.” From there, the group is persecuted by a killer with a hook, leading to a series of dark deaths and revelations.
