“We have had it for many years. But the appropriate space, the right man, the proper production, the appropriate conditions had to be found. “ says Angel Dionysiou, explaining why now is the right time for this show.

The original plan, however, was another. “The original plan was to become a series that we had agreed, we have agreed, that is, we have signed and for some reason it was frozen. I don’t know why it was frozen » Completes himself.

As the two brothers say, the performances are very moving, not only for themselves who live it daily, but also for the world that “Going out of the theater, when the show is over, they are waiting for us to cry to tell us what we lived!” We lived our years, 30 years ago when we were following your dad, who went and listening to the shops, where we had unforgettable moments with him. ”

Even younger, who did not know the story of Stratos Dionysius.

Stratos’s power 35 years after his death

Thirty -five years after his death, Stratos Dionysius remains current. “This shows how much power does Stratos have” says Angel.

Referring to the show, the two brothers repeat that the emotion they feel is great and speak of unique emotions that overwhelm them.

Giannis Tsortekis has a scene (ed. He embodies Stratos Dionysiou in the show) who calls me in America, my father – that is to say – and we have a discussion of the songs, the news, the new ones that he said and come to my mind.“, Says the older of the two brothers.

With real dialogues, the show for Stratos Dionysius includes them all. Its good and its bad. “His passions, his lovers, his love for horses,” says Stelios Dionysiou, adding Angelos: “There is fiction. Little less and a little bit in exaggeration. But we didn’t want to hide something. But anyway they know and he has said it himself. His love for horses, for the Hippodrome, for women … “.

The Refugee Stratos – born singer

Stratos Dionysiou, after the destruction of Smyrna, found a refugee in Nigrita, Serres, where he stayed until the age of 12. At the same time he lost his father. So, finishing the elementary school he immediately went to biopal. He literally did everything …

In the late 1950s, Stratos Dionysiou made the big decision to leave Thessaloniki and following the promise he made to Athens.

The beginning in the capital, however, was very difficult. He was staying in Omonia and crying in the room. He had already married Georgia, which he had left in Thessaloniki with two children, Angelos and Tasoula. Georgia, however, believed him and supported him very much from the beginning.

“I remember now, this is not in the Angel show, this is what my mom has told us that when she got her first bastard, she ran around Omonia with the bastard and celebrated that she took out his first day.” Stelios tells.

His first collaboration is with Katie Gray and his first song “I’m not guilty” by Hadjidakis and Kolokotronis. Slowly people are starting to know him, learn him.

Mimis Plessas and it rains fire on my army

At some point Mimis Plessas sees Stratos Dionysiou. This is the time when Foskolos has asked him to write a song about the movie “Zero Visibility” giving him two words: a bitter wave. With lyrics by Lefteris Papadopoulos, Plessas writes his first folk song, his first great zeibekiko.

The premiere of the film takes place on January 5, 1970. And Plessas waits for how and how the film and the song is criticized. Which scans. But people do not know that the “wave of bitter” (or “it is raining on my army” as Dionysius sings).

The difficult times

In 1974, Stratos Dionysiou was in prison, where he stayed 9 months. A great singer now, Stratos was bitter in evolution, but he fought it. Every day the angel visited him with his mother. They were the ones who went and took him the day he was released. The climate was festive. The prisoners had come out and applauded Stratos Dionysiou together.

Tails in the shops

It follows a period of abstention from both the discography and the nightclubs. And then, follows the collaboration with Tolis Voskopoulos. Together they sang in Kankan, at Dillina and elsewhere. And the success was huge. There were queues in the shops to see them. And their sucks is “I fell asleep”.

The golden decade of Stratos

The sequel is the golden age for Stratos Dionysiou. He returns to Minos with Matsas and makes the biggest sucks: you pretend, the woman’s heart, a thin kiosk which was the album he did not complete.

On Mondays, when Stratos Dionysiou had a daytime, it was the day the family table was struck. The whole family was there and the dog, who was a member of the family. The first dog that Stratos Dionysiou went to his family was Bruno. He always had a dog. He generally had huge love for animals. In addition to dogs, it also had horses that loved them. Their names: Edith Piaf, Angelos, Stelaras, Diamantis, Anastasia, Georgia, Little Diamantis, PAOK, PAOKara.

The angel, however, was talking to him in the plural, and whatever the children needed was asked by their mom.

The appearance of Stratos Dionysius has always been flawless. His costumes were sewn on him, his handmade shoes. When he wore his suit, he would go to the point of not smoking, because with the movement of his hand he would crumple his jacket ….

Stelios and the song

With his father and his older brother singing, it would be difficult for Stelios not to love the song. So he was singing from a very young man at home when his father was not there. As he says he was “ashamed”. But when he first went up to Palco, in his 15th year, his father who watched him tears.

And while there was the plan, the Angel working with his father, in the winter of 1990 they would be together in the imagination, unfortunately they did not catch up, suddenly the death of Stratos came at 54 years. He died almost on the track.

At his funeral, the crowd gathered to say goodbye was such that the roads were closed.

In one of his latest interviews Stratos Dionysiou had said: “I believe in myself very much. If I’m an idol on the track, this is what people know. When it is night, life begins for me. I like to show me their love and shout at me on the street ‘Hi Great’. It satisfies me. Now to call me king or patriarch or hawk on the track, others say, not me. I respected the world very much, as the world loved me too and highlighted me. Every season, every year I try to do something good to satisfy them. I was not spoiled and influenced by neither the money nor the glory. Just as I started from Thessaloniki and came here. I am, the Nigrita refugee, the Salonikios, who was almost born a singer growing up on the sidewalk. ”

This was Stratos Dionysiou …
