In Thailand and specifically on the beautiful tropical island of Phuket, Nafsika Panagiotakopoulou has been in a few days and has been thrilled with both the landscape and the contact with the wildlife.

And although he refused to visit Tiger Park (you know, the place he was sitting next to a tiger and photographing) visited the hefish shelter that has animals rescued by touring circus of the world.

And not only was he visited it and was thrilled, but he spent hours doing a mud bath in one of the barefoot elephants and shattered but obviously trained.

“In the Phuket Elephant Shelter I met elephants who have been saved from circus, spectacles and walks. Here they are truly free in nature, live with respect and care, without exploitation!

Before visiting the shelter, I accidentally went to a show that was supposed to present Thailand’s cultural heritage, Fantasea. Unfortunately, what I saw was a clear exploitation of the elephants for spectacular purposes – an experience that I would not want to live again and would not recommend to anyone. (And awful show)

The same with Tiger Park in Phuket. Although I really wanted to be close to a tiger, to see her close, to caress her, I consciously chose not to support a place that holds these beautiful animals locked in cages for photos only. When we really love animals, we respect them.

And something I will not forget: I did mud bath and washed an elephant. He liked it so much that he was still motionless and shakes his ears backwards (so I was told that they show their joy probably like the tail of dogs 😂). Of course, when you wash an elephant, it’s not a simple matter – we’re talking about the square!
