Robert de Niro, 81, expressed support for daughter Airyn, who took over a trans woman this week.
“I loved and supported Aaron as my son and now I love and support Airyn as my daughter,” the actor told TMZ on Wednesday (30). He added, “I don’t know what the whole excitement is. I love all my children.”
Airyn, 29, spoke for the first time about his gender identity to Them, specializing in the LGBTQIA+theme. “I’m entering a new identity,” said the young woman.
Airyn and his twin brother, Julian, are children of the star with Toukie Smith. In the interview, the young woman talked about her struggle against body dysmorphia, a condition of mental health that leads to excessive concern with appearance.
The young woman says she grew up finding over weight. “It wasn’t thin enough, it wasn’t black enough, neither enough, nor female nor male enough. I was never just the way I am,” Airyn said in the interview. In November last year, she began hormone therapy.
De Niro has seven children – including a two -year -old baby – with four different women. He is Drena’s father, 58, and Raphael, 49, with Diahnne Abbot, the twins Airyn and Julian, 29, with Toukie Smith, Elliot, 27, and Helen, 14, with Grace Hightower, and two -year -old Gia with Tiffany Chen.
