With vibrant colors, tiny rhinestones and a modern variant of French manicure
Vanessa Hudgens loves a playful manicure. Her nails are always distinguished, thanks to interesting nail art techniques, unexpected colors and cool textures. If, like me, you are ready for the live summer glow, you are lucky, because Vanessa and Nail Artist Zola Ganzorigt have already done the work of trend-spotting for us!
The twin, often collaborating on amazing nail designs, has created another success, which we call “negative space neon manicure”. It combines so many trends in a highly desirable design, based on intense touches of bright neon yellow varnish and a unique way of placing the “negative space”.
Take a closer look
If you were looking at Vanessa’s nails quickly while scrolling on Instagram, you would probably think this is a simple neon French manicure. But take a closer look!
Yes, it has elements of the French manicure, but instead of painting the whole edge with the bright yellow, Zola left a small oval gap on the edge for an interesting variant of the classic technique. He then placed tiny silver rhinestones (with a shape reminiscent of the flash emoji!) Between the oval and the base of the French line.

“Summer Neon has returned to us,” Zola wrote for the set, and Vanessa Hudgens agreed via Instagram stories, saying “she loves neon”. And we confirm it, as neon often appears in her nail style.
Vanessa is not the only one who loves colors
The singer Tyla started the wave of neon nails earlier this month, with two different neon sets, a mani-pedi for the Billboard Music Awards and a “Neon Rose” set at Coachella.
Kylie Jenner, also Zola’s client, is experimenting with variations of French manicure, such as the recent pastel ends set she wore. Zola also incorporated tiny gold rhinestones into it, creating a sweet but edgy style reminiscent of the “King Kylie” era in Tumblr.
What awaits us this summer?
Nail artists predict that summer will be full of neon colors and textures, so maybe it’s time to get some new lacquers and decorations, such as stickers or rhinestones, to start dynamically!
