In the middle of the typical rush of Rio de Janeiro, an unexpected scene caught the attention of those who passed by Leblon last Wednesday (7): John Dolmayan, drummer of the band System of a Down, starred in a kindness gesture by helping two ladies landing from a taxi in the street crowded with fan.
The musician was on his way to a Meet & Greet in a bookstore in the south of the city, and even accompanied by the team, stopped to assist the elderly.
The moment was recorded by Beatriz Leal, 25, who was in line for the event along with her mother. “I’ve been a fan since I was seven. When they announced the coming of the band to Rio, I organized me all to secure my ticket to the show,” she said to F5.
“I was going to have a meeting with the band at a Leblon bookstore. On Wednesday, the photo and autograph session was scheduled at 4 pm. When the team arrived, my mother recorded him down the van, and at the same time, a taxi stopped next to two ladies.” She further reveals that John promptly was helping the women to land and that the fans who were there loved the scene.
According to Beatriz, the elderly did not even realize they were facing a rock star. “They got out of the car very happy with the kindness. They had no idea who he was. It was beautiful to see,” he said.
Dolmayan’s rapid and spontaneous action has become a subject on social networks and gained several compliments. User @Rocktrês wrote in a publication: “This says a lot about the artist, more than words.” Larissa Couto agreed, “Too proud to be a fan of people like him.”
John Dolmayan is in Brazil along with the System of A Down, the owners of hits such as “Toxiticy” and “Byob”, and have already performed two performances in national territory: one in Curitiba that took place on Tuesday night (6) and one in Rio de Janeiro, which took place Thursday (8).
There are still three performances in São Paulo, where the band performs this weekend. The opening of the show will be in charge of the band Ego Kill Talent.
