The Colombian pop star was going to appear on Saturday at WorldPride, one of the largest LGBTQ+ festivals in the world.

In a statement, the baseball stage where the concert would be given, Nationals Park said that “complications with the previous show in Boston” meant that “full production of Shakira’s tour cannot be transferred to Washington in a timely manner.”

For her part, the star of The Wherever, wherever said she was “crushed” that her shows were canceled.

“Due to the unpredictable and unfortunate conditions that influenced me and other artists in Boston, the full production of my tour cannot be transferred to Washington, DC in time for my scheduled appearance on Saturday,” Shakira said.

“I was counting on the days, excited to reunite with my fans both in Washington and Boston,” he added.

“I promise I will do what is going through my hand to be with you as soon as possible.”

Nationals Park said that “despite every effort”, it was not possible for the concert to take place as planned and promised automatic refund to ticket holders.
