The story of Maria Callas’ love at Argentinean Tango is embodied in a musical performance on June 18 in the hall of the Parnassos Philological Association.
THE Elias Roumhe undertook the production and direction of the show, “Maria Callas -tango Y Pasion Pura” under the auspices of the Argentine Embassy in Greece, in collaboration with the Cyprus House -Center of Culture.
The show makes a journey back in time, at the time of Callas’ great love with the Greek Croissos. Specifically on one night when Maria Callas and Aristotle Onassis had the opportunity to make a common “order” under the sounds of the Argentinean Tango.
On June 17, 1959, after the first performance of “Medea” at Covent Garden’s Royal Opera House in London, Aristos had organized a large, luxurious reception in honor of Maria at the Dorchester Hotel, which had been invited by 170 people.
