Businessman Alexandre Correa, ex-husband of presenter Ana Hickmann, was convicted of the São Paulo court to three years in prison for offenses to her cook and current groom Edu Guedes.
According to the sentence, given by the 4th Criminal Court of Barra Funda, Alexandre extrapolated freedom of expression after making statements to Edu’s honor. Among them, that the cook would have done acts considered criminal and would be a “bandit scoundrel” without evidence.
Edu had already moved two criminal complaints against Alexandre, one of them for defamation, after the businessman accused him of maintaining a relationship with Ana while still married.
By note, Bruno Ferullo, Correa’s lawyer, states that “the defense trusts the reversal of the condemnation by the higher instances, especially in the face of elements that demonstrate the absence of specific intent in the conduct attributed to Alexander.”
It also states that Alexandre will collaborate with the court. “We reiterate the commitment to the truth of the facts and the full exercise of the right of defense, a fundamental pillar of the Democratic Rule of Law,” the note concludes.
