About The Lyceum Project

The Lyceum Project takes place every year on June 20 at the Athens Conservatory, next to Aristotle’s ancient high school. It is a global initiative that links philosophy with TN, in collaboration with leading academic institutions and international organizations.

The first event in 2024 introduced an Aristotelian moral framework to meet the challenges of TN as described in the report “Lyceum Project: AI Ethics with Aristotle” By John Tasioulas, Professor of Ethics and Legal Philosophy & Director of the Institute for Ethics at TN at the University of Oxford, and Josiah Ober, Professor of Classical Studies and Political Science at Stanford University. This exhibition formed the basis for the vision of the project.

The Lyceum Project is in full harmony with the proclamation for ‘Including and sustainable artificial intelligence for man and planet’ signed at the International Council for the action for TN in Paris in February 2025, promoting multilateral dialogues and collaborations for the governance of TN.

It also fulfills one of the iconic programs of ‘Greece’s National Transition Plan to Artificial Intelligence » with the aim of hosting an annual high -level world meeting for ethics and policymaking in the field of artificial intelligence.
