‘I confess that BBB was my first rehab,’ says Linn from Quebrada

In an interview with Glamor de June, Linn da Quebrada spoke about his vulnerabilities, the treatment against addition and the return to the stage.

“I confess that BBB was my first Rehab,” said the singer. “It was my first time to get farther from the substances and get in touch with my vulnerability.”

“He put me in the face of a fragility that I had no idea myself. The audience saw it and I think it humanized me – and being humanized while a transvestite is very valuable,” Linn continued.

In the interview, she also talks about her childhood in Votuporanga, in the interior of São Paulo, the troubled adolescence between church and discovery of sexuality and the first contact with art.

“I had a group of friends in which we were all discovering our sexuality. Today we are less close, but we still talked. Of five people, three transitioned. It was in this group that we found a lot of strength. Soon after I was disassociated [da igreja]I started doing theater. There, I had the feeling that I gained special powers. I started to understand my body in another way. Art has entered my life giving me superpowers, “he says.

Linn also talked about hospitalizations to treat addition and depression. “I went through two hospitalizations. The first was in a therapeutic community in Itu, where I spent three months, and was very related to depression and substance use. Understanding and accepting help is one of the most difficult aspects,” he says.

“I went to the clinic and spent three months. After I left, I spent a long time in the recovery process. I went back to work, I did some things, had a clean period, until I went through a relapse and went back to the clinic, where I spent a while. Today, looking back, I see how important it was and necessary.”
