Journalist Pedro Bial used social networks to inform about his mother’s death, Susanne Bial, a day after she turns 101. “A very vivid life of a lot of struggle, a lot of joy, a lot of pleasure, encounter and listening,” he pointed out in the publication of his mother’s photo.
The cause of death was not disclosed. Susanne’s Visa was recorded in the documentary “Oma”, available on Globoplay and which was directed by José Bial, son of Pedro and Neto de Susanne.
The project, made in celebration of the centenary, portrays it as “a German grandmother who tells stories to her grandson José”, and states that conversations about her past go through the theater, dictatorship, holocaust, childhood, performance and music.
Susanne was born in Berlin, Germany in 1924, and ten years later immigrated to Brazil, when she fled with the family of local Nazism.

Some famous people provided solidarity with Bial, such as Angelica, Rita Batista, Luis Miranda and Beto Lee.
