Regina Duarte says ‘continues to admire’ Bolsonaro

Regina Duarte, 78, recalled her brief stint in the Special Secretariat of Culture. Regina did not escape the issue of the remakes of Brazilian soap operas. She criticized this type of production, stating that she considers disrespectful to the original cast. “It’s like betrayal to actors who accept to make a remake,” he said. For her, remakes would only make sense if they were intended to improve works that were not successful. “One thing that was well done, well received, 100% audience, does not need a remake,” he said.

She followed, saying that the old plots can still be assisted in streaming catalogs. “Especially today, that you come in and you can see scenes of this soap opera that is being redone now… I find a privilege to live in a world where what I did 20 years ago is available today,” he added.

Regina Duarte also spoke about a possible return to TV Globo soap operas, but imposed one condition: she would only return to a possible soap opera by author Manoel Carlos.
