ANAHI MARTINHO

The opening of “Vale Tudo” this Monday (21) was different. The soap opera opened with the voice of Preta Gil singing The Thema song, “Brazil”, by Cazuza.

Preta had negotiated with Globo to be the voice of the opening song, as revealed by the F5 Last Sunday (20).

The idea of having black at the opening came from the station’s television drama. However, it ended up deciding to use the version of Gal Costa, the same as the original plot.

In the release week of “Vale Tudo”, Luciano Huck invited Preta Gil to sing “Brazil” live on the stage of Domingão. It was a form of tribute to her. It was also his last television performance.

The last time Preta Gil packed the opening of a soap opera was in the remake of “They Por They”, which occupied the six of Globo’s six between 2023 and 2024. She sang the opening along with Ivete Sangalo and Duda Beat.

Preta Gil died last Sunday (20), at age 50, in New York. She treated cancer. Daughter of Gilberto Gil and Sandra Gadelha, Preta will be veiled in Rio de Janeiro.

The family still solves bureaucratic procedures for body repatriation, which should occur in the coming days.
