Francisco Gil used social networks this week to pay tribute to his mother, Preta Gil, who died last Sunday (20), at age 50, a victim of cancer -related complications. Among the support messages that the musician received, one stood out: Alane Dias.
“May you find endless new ways of feeling her love and lap inside you, my love. Her light will illuminate you for the rest of my life. I love you and I will never drop your hand,” the former BBB wrote in the comments of Francisco’s publication.
The singer’s only child shared a series of images taken in the last days of her mother’s life. In the text, he recalled intimate moments, such as the last night they spent together. “You slept and I followed every breath of you. You held my hand hard… and I don’t understand where you took that strength. Now I understand: the engine of your life has always been to love. And love was your greatest gift,” he wrote.
The artist also revealed that these were the last photos in which he appeared alongside Preta Gil and Daughter, Sol de Maria, 9, the result of his relationship with actress Laura Fernandez.
Preta has been in New York since April, where he had experimental treatment against cancer. The singer’s funeral will be held this Friday (25), in a ceremony open to the public at the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Theater.
Since the announcement of the death, several demonstrations of affection have been made by colleagues and fans.
