The 39th Criminal Court of the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice sentenced to prison, in closed regime, two men accused by the murder – a room followed by death – by the publicist, businessman and musician Sérgio José Coutinho Stamile, in August 2021.
Stamile was the husband of actress Carla Daniel, 60, and was found dead in the Ipanema Girl Park, in the south of the city. Carla is the daughter of director Daniel Filho, 87, and actress Dorinha Duval (1929-2025).
Pablo Francisco da Silva was sentenced to 27 years, two months and 20 days in prison; The conviction of Flávio Lima de Mello is 23 years and four months in prison.
According to the complaint, the two immobilized and asphyxiated the publicist and then fled with the victim’s wallet and cell phone.
The defendants’ defenses claimed that there was not enough evidence for the conviction, an argument that was not accepted by the court.
Stamile was known as the “Arpoador Pirate” due to the habit of meditating on the Arpoador Beach Pedra, near the park.
On -site security cameras captured images of the crime and made it possible to identify the two men.
“The crime of murder was committed by violence and serious threat, embodied to enter body struggle with the victim, applying a fatal blow called lion kill,” said Judge Ricardo Coronha Pinheiro over the aggravating case.
According to him, the hanging makes it impossible to defend Stabile.
A witness told the court that the publicist was approached when he entered the park and headed for a cave to light a candle at a Santa Sara altar. The two condemned men used to sleep on the spot.
“I hope they do the sentences, after all, two less doing evil. Justice done. Light, Piratinha,” Carla wrote on Instagram.
