Jessie J says she’s upset by criticism of her current body: ‘Just stop’

Singer Jessie J, 34, says she is upset about having to read daily criticisms about her body. She recently had a miscarriage and says she gained some weight in the process.

However, in a text published in Stories, she asked people to put aside their dislike and stop evaluating their physical condition.

“Stop commenting on people’s weight. Just stop. Or telling someone they really look pregnant or thin. Anything. Just stop,” Jessie began.

According to the singer, she has gained four and a half kilos in the last few months and that is not a problem. “I can stay that way or I can’t, or I can gain more weight. Who cares? I don’t care as long as I’m feeling good and healthy,” she commented.

She recalled that one day a person asked if she was expecting a child. “This person knew what I went through the last year and told me what he thought about it and how I should have handled it. It was so weird and bold. I would never do that,” she said.

In November last year, Jessie, who decided to have a child alone, revealed that she had a miscarriage. Thrilled, she posted on Instagram saying she had her third exam and they said “there was no more heartbeat”.

Jessie J said that that morning she was laughing with a friend saying how she was going to do a show in Los Angeles the next day without telling the whole audience that she was pregnant.

“Yesterday afternoon I was terrified to even think about getting through the show without breaking. After doing my third scan and hearing there was no more heartbeat,” the singer wrote alongside a photo holding a pregnancy test.

Jessie J also said that she decided to have the child alone because it was all she ever wanted and “life is short”. According to her, getting pregnant was a miracle, an experience she will never forget and she knows she will have it again. “I’m still in shock, the sadness is overwhelming. But I know I’m strong and I know I’ll be okay.”

The singer ended the message saying that she knew that millions of women around the world have already felt “this pain and much worse”. She stated that she feels connected to women who have gone through this loss.
