Singer Thiago Costa, 36, is expected to undergo surgery on his arm this Tuesday (16), according to a statement released by the artist’s press office. The musician suffered a water accident in Belém last Thursday (11) and has been hospitalized in the ICU ever since.
Costa is at the Metropolitan Hospital of Urgency and Emergency in Ananindeua, Pará. On the singer’s Instagram, the staff informed about the upcoming surgery and asked for blood donations to Hemopa (Hemotherapy and Hematology Center of Pará), which should be made to Thiago Costa da Silva.
“Thiago is still in the ICU, is taking medications and took another A+ blood bag, is conscious, on oxygen and eating. His health status is stable”, says the note. “To perform the surgery, it will depend on the results of the pre-surgical exams that will still be performed”.
The artist’s office had informed this Saturday (13) that Thiago’s health condition is stable and he remained without a forecast of high. After the accident, he had a fractured arm and leg and underwent surgery in the morning of Friday (12).
“The shows for this month are canceled. We are grateful for the affection and understanding of everyone, we ask for prayers for the recovery of our Thiago Costa”, says the press office. According to the G1, the countryman was on a watercraft hit by a speedboat in the hole in the river Maguari. Another person, whose name was not disclosed, was also rescued by firefighters in the accident.
