Kevin Federline, the former dancer and husband of the embattled Britney Spears from September 2004 to November 2006, has revealed how much “compensation” and alimony he received from his divorce from the pop star.

In his book, “You Thought You Knew,” Federline states that “money it wasn’t as much as you might imagine” and even describes precisely how he spent the money he received.

Federline writes that he received $20,000 a month in alimony for their two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, as well and an additional $20,000 per month as “compensation” for half of their 26-month marriage.

Furthermore, although it mentions an additional monetary settlement, it does not disclose the amount. However, reports said the amount ranged between $1 million and $1.3 million.

The 47-year-old Federline says in his book that he had signed a “fairly standard” prenuptial agreement with Britney Spears, although she didn’t think it was necessary, since “I wasn’t a lazy person who was just waiting for the check to come to him.”

“I was out there, working, investing, trying,” he says, adding that he made money from advertising, public appearances and “participating in secular parties” (as Britney Spears’ husband, though).

In addition, he clarifies that he was not “financially secure” after the breakup.

“The money didn’t last as long as one would imagine,” he reports, saying that the costs of housing, transportation, security, child care, and the daily necessities of raising two children in Los Angeles were significant.
