“Sound & Art Immersion”

A series of hands-on experiences at the B&E Goulandris Foundation

Starting on October 22, once a month the world of art meets the world of sound inside the exhibition spaces of the B&E Goulandris Foundation in the new, original multi-sensory experience “Sound & Art Immersion” that offers a unique experiential connection with art.
Experienced presenters Natasa Banaka and Konstantina Spiliopoulou lead us on a journey that combines color, image and sound, making art more intimate through a space of silent immersion. With the help of different musical instruments such as Tibetan bowls, melodrama and gongs, the participants “immerse” themselves in a certain atmosphere that activates their imagination eyes. Soundscapes transport us to an inner landscape, which allows for a deeper connection with ourselves as well as with works of art.

The experiential experience combines sound with the observation of a different work of art in each encounter, evoking a special personal connection with art that emerges in emotion and color.

Wednesdays 22/10, 12/11, 17/12/2025 and 21/01, 18/02, 18/03, 01/04/2026 | 19.00–20.00

“The color of the voice”

Diaphragmatic breathing, orthophonic placement and use of body speakers seminar with Maria Papageorgiou

In continuation of last year’s successful series, the seminar “The color of the voice”, with the well-known performer, songwriter and vocal teacher Maria Papageorgiou, continues for the second year on the first floor of the permanent Collection of the B&E Goulandris Foundation.

Our voice and breathing are two functions inextricably linked to our mental expression and balance. However, often our lack of knowledge and limiting beliefs prevent us from truly feeling free to reach our full potential.

With simple, experiential exercises, through the observation of the human voice according to places, dates and social stereotypes, but also through the visual and social analysis of important works of the B&E Goulandris Foundation Collection, Maria Papageorgiou will teach the function of natural breathing, the function and capabilities of the diaphragm, the main points of resonance, ways to strengthen the voice when speaking and singing, ways to enrich timbre and preservation of our vocal cords from injuries and fatigue as well as hearing and listening.

Wednesdays 22/10, 12/11, 17/12/2025 and 21/01, 18/02, 18/03, 01/04/2026 | 18.00–21.00

Starting with works from the Collection in which nature is depicted, Maria Papadopoulou once a month unravels the basic techniques of flower arranging, talks to us about the magic that hides the colors and smells of flowers, the characteristics that specific flowers have, explains how to choose the flowers that are suitable for our personal space and shows us step by step how to make our own bouquet as well as the ways in which we can preserve the flowers in our vase. At the end of each workshop, all participants leave with their own bountiful bouquet, ready to be placed in their vase!

“The embroidery of Art”

Embroidery workshop for adults with Malvina Kokorakis

Traditional art meets modern aesthetics based on the Collection of the B&E Goulandris Foundation, in the new embroidery workshop for adults “The Embroidery of Art”, which takes place in the Library of the Foundation in collaboration with the embroiderer and designer Malvina Kokorakis. The workshop is held in self-contained three-hour meetings every other Sunday 10.30-13.30, starting on Sunday 19 October.

Through techniques based on Greek folklore and designs inspired by works in the Collection, we explore how embroidery can become a means of contemporary expression and experiment with its application in contemporary creation. We learn basic techniques of embroidery on a frame such as root stitch and back stitch, French knot, satin and chain, giving the trigger and the necessary space for personal expression and aesthetics.

The workshop is suitable for beginners and advanced and includes step-by-step guidance, with the aim of highlighting the timeless value of handmade creation.

“A holistic coffee tasting experience at the B&E Goulandris Foundation”

Once a month at B&E Goulandris Café-Restaurant, in collaboration with Yiannis Taloumi

The B&E Goulandris Foundation collaborates with Yiannis Taloumi, CEO and Head of Quality of the Taf coffee company, and presents a holistic coffee tasting inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s “Still Life with a Coffee Maker” from the Foundation’s Collection. Once a month, at the Foundation’s Café-Restaurant, participants have the opportunity to experience the taste and aroma characteristics offered not only by the coffee bean, but by the entire plant.

This unique tasting experience includes different stages of tasting, guided by the experienced coffee master Giannis Taloumi. We start with the presentation of the leaves of the coffee plant and then discover the pericarp of the ripe cherry. The next stages focus on the coffee bean and give us the opportunity to taste Taf’s unique coffees and compare characteristics that “hit” different points of our taste palette. The juxtaposition of different varieties of coffee from different terroirs takes us beyond the limits of the usual perceived complexity of the taste of coffee and introduces us to the depths of its conscious enjoyment.
Mondays 03/11, 08/12/2025 and 12/01, 09/03/2026 | 18.30-20.00

“Tea in Cézanne’s Countryside”

A tasting experience with Greek herbs at the B&E Goulandris Foundation

Paul Cézanne’s work “The countryside of Auvers-sur-Oise”, from the Collection of the B&E Goulandris Foundation, becomes the starting point for a special meeting at the Café-Restaurant of the Foundation where art converses with the richness of Greek herbs through a special tasting experience. The painting of the great French artist, which highlights the harmony of nature, inspired a tasting tour that aims to introduce us to a new way of connecting with nature.

Starting on Wednesday, October 22, once a month the participants will explore a world of aromas and flavors featuring the herbs of the Greek countryside and Greek gastronomy, under the guidance of Aggeliki Drakou, co-founder of the company Grizo & Prasino – a modern Greek company that grows organic herbs and creates aromatic drinks. Through tests that surprise and overturn stereotypes, the action, lasting two hours, will literally activate all our senses. The goal is to highlight the authenticity of Greek flavors and create a ritual that recalls the experience of the countryside even in the heart of bustling Athens.
22/10, 12/11/2025, 15/12 and 21/01, 01/04, 06/05/2026 | 19.00-21.30
