by

Former boxer Mike Tyson, 55, revealed in an interview with the New York Post that he has been smoking frog venom against anxiety and depression. According to him, the goo produced by the animal helped him a lot to improve his health and to become “different”.

He says that the amphibian has substances with psychoactive properties that are studied by scientists. Although still not having solid results, the publication claims that the goo was already able to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety in the participants of an experiment.

“I did it as a challenge. I was using hard drugs like cocaine, so why not? It’s another dimension. Before using the ‘frog’ I was devastated. The toughest opponent I’ve ever faced was myself,” he said. who was also 45 pounds overweight.

“I had low self-esteem. People with big egos often have low self-esteem. We use our ego to cover that up. The ‘frog’ takes the ego out,” he said.

According to him, more than 50 times he smoked the poison. In the meantime, he returned to training and fighting. “It made me more creative and helps me focus. I’m more present as a businessman,” he said.

According to Tyson, people around him already see him differently. “If you knew me in 1989, you would meet a different person. My mind is not sophisticated enough to understand what happened, but my life has improved. The purpose of the ‘frog’ is to reach its greatest potential.”

However, the first few times he used it, he says he felt death more closely. “I ‘died’ during my first trip. In my travels, I saw that death is beautiful. Life and death have to be beautiful, but death has a bad reputation. The ‘frog’ taught me that I won’t stay here forever,” he said.

Tyson has always been in favor of using marijuana. He has already revealed that he smoked the equivalent of R$ 220 thousand in marijuana every month. The statement was given by him in an episode of his podcast, ‘Hotboxing’.

He owns a ranch that grows the weed in partnership with former NFL player Eben Britton. He has invested in the plant’s production, according to estimates, a total of R$1.9 million.

“How much do we smoke a month or so? About $40,000?” Tyson asked his colleague in the episode.

In another recent revelation, he explained how he used to defraud anti-doping tests when he was active: he used a penile prosthesis and used the urine of other people in his family, including his baby son and his wife.

“I put my baby’s urine on it [no pênis falso]”, revealed to guest Jeff Novitzky, UFC Athlete’s Vice President of Health and Performance. “I once used my wife’s urine and she said, ‘Honey, you better hope that [o teste] do not come back [dizendo que] pregnant or something’.”

That’s when the baby son became the first option. “I said, ‘No, then let’s not use you anymore, let’s use the boy.’ Because I was afraid that the result of her being pregnant… That’s what I was afraid of.”
