Portugal’s Porto Santo Beach is the best beach in Europe for 2022, as voted by at least thousands of travelers from 82 countries, by the European Best Destinations (EBD), an arm of the Commission’s EDEN Network (European Destinations of Excellence).
Madeira (along with neighboring Porto Santo) has been voted the most beautiful island in the world seven times, but also the safest destination during the pandemic, while this year it has three beaches in the top10.
Of the Greek beaches, Monolia in Lichadonissia was better voted, or the “Seychelles of Greece”, while two places lower, in 8th place, was Elafonissi of Chania, with the EBD noting that it is one of the few beaches in the world with pink sand.
In 11th place is Porto Katsiki of Lefkada and two places lower is Agios Konstantinos of Astypalea.
