Amber Heard’s friend kicked out of court in trial with Johnny Depp

In a new chapter of the defamation trial between Johnny Depp, 58, and Amber Heard, 35, a close friend of the actress was expelled from the court where the case unfolds. Eve Barlow, a British journalist, reportedly clashed with the judge.

According to the website Page Six, Barlow would still have texted and tweeted while he was in the front row of the courtroom, alongside Heard’s legal team. She, who worked as part of the actress’ legal team, would have tried to intervene during the testimony of Gina Deuters, Depp’s witness.

At the time, the journalist tried to defend her friend by saying that Deuters had compromised her testimony by showing a publication about the trial. However, the material displayed referred to the lawsuit filed by the actor in 2021, against the newspaper The Sun.

However, Deuters admitted that she had watched videos of the trial online before giving testimony and was fired from the courtroom. Subsequently, Depp’s defense demanded that Barlow also be permanently barred from court.

“She was live-tweeting from my courtroom I know the officers took her out because she was texting. This is against the court order. Ms. Barlow will not return to court during this trial,” Judge Penney S. Azcarat.

The trial of the lawsuit that the actor is bringing against his ex-wife for defamation, began last Monday (11) in Virginia, USA. The unfolding of the process is expected to last about six weeks and will have all procedures televised.

The suit centers on a lawsuit the actor brought against Heard, who wrote an op-ed for the Washington Post in 2018, saying she had become a “public figure representing domestic abuse”. Depp began the trial in March 2019, and claimed that Heard’s accusations were an “elaborate hoax” to enhance his public persona.
