Luiza, from the duo with Maurílio, announces her solo career and returns to the stage

Luiza Martins, singer of the duo with Maurílio, announced this Saturday (30) on Instagram that she will return to the stage in a solo career. She had not performed since the country singer died at the end of December last year, after suffering three cardiac arrests due to a pulmonary thromboembolism.

“Here, a story begins again. My story. You who accompany me know everything I’ve been through in recent times, and I almost, almost, lost myself. Understandable. I have a lot of respect for my pain, because it’s real. I had two choices, either I walked over her and pretended that nothing had happened, and at some point she would bring me down, or I would face her, and learn to live with it,” the message reads.

Luiza says she will make a presentation next week. “I’m going to step on stage for the first time after all, and also after a long time of a pandemic, where we played very few shows.
With God’s blessing, with the help of spirituality and the universe, of good energies, I’m coming back. And I’m very happy about it,” he wrote.

MUSICIAN DEATH

Maurílio felt ill during the recording of a DVD, in Goiânia, on December 15, and after suffering three cardiac arrests, he was admitted to the Jardim América Hospital, but was transferred to the Orthopedic Institute of Goiânia (IOG) after presenting “stability clinic”.​

A day after the singer’s transfer, mother Odaisa Delmonte shared a record with her son on her Instagram profile cheering for his recovery. “I miss your smile and your hug. Wake up son, we are waiting for you”, she wrote in the caption.

After the incident with the singer, Work Show, the office that takes care of the duo’s presentations, released a statement about the cancellation of two shows they would do, on December 17th and 18th, in the cities of Sorriso and Glória d’Oeste, both in Mato Grosso. Maurílio’s death was announced late on December 29 at the age of 28.
