This Wednesday (4th), marks one year since the death of actor and comedian Paulo Gustavo (1978-2021). The artist died at the age of 43 due to complications caused by Covid-19, after being hospitalized for almost two months. To mark the date, celebrities and friends of the artist paid tribute on social media.
Dermatologist Thales Bretas, 34, the actor’s widower, shared a photo with the comedian and his children, Gael and Romeu. “There’s no denying the feeling that a piece of me was ripped out early. Especially having been the victim of a virus for which vaccines had already been developed that were being applied around the world”, he says in an excerpt of the text.
In the comments of the publication, the actress Mariana Xavier, 41, who acted with Paulo Gustavo in the films of “Minha Mãe É Uma Peça”, also paid tribute to the artist. “If there is nostalgia, it’s because there was love! For me, the best way to honor someone who was so full of life is to keep living and spreading all the best he left us!”, she wrote.
Actress and presenter Tatá Werneck, 38, also shared a text about her friend. She comments that she often dreams about the comedian, and that she always wonders how he must be and what he must be thinking. “Your way of seeing life made history. Your life made history. You are pure life. I love you”, she finished.
Déa Lúcia, 74, the artist’s mother, also left a tribute on her Instagram. She shared an image with the phrase: “It’s not true that everything passes… There are things that stay inside us forever”. In the caption, she wrote: “I miss you so much my son”.
Actress Samantha Schmütz, 43, shared a video of the actor in her Stories, in which he is dressed as an angel. “A year ago I received one of the saddest news of my life… I miss you so much”, she wrote in the publication.
In an article for the newspaper O Globo, also comedian Fábio Porchat, 38, remembered his friend and talked about the relationship between the two that has been built over the years, since drama school. “I have lost an important piece of myself,” he wrote. “I love you.”
The actor’s sister, Juliana Amaral, spoke about the death of Paulo Gustavo for the first time, also in an interview with the newspaper O Globo. She says she finds in her nephews, Gael and Romeu, strength to accept and understand her brother’s absence.
