The Deputy Minister of Interior, in charge of Macedonia and Thrace, Mr. Stavros Kalafatis, met with executives of companies in the film industry, in his office at the Governor’s Office.
Messrs. Avi Lerner, Founder and President, and Yariv Lerner, Executive Director of Film and Television Producers Nu Image, Inc., Millennium Films, Rob Van Norden, Producer of Bricklayer, Shooting in Thessaloniki, and John Kalafatis, Owner of Nu Boyana Studio Film Hellenic, thanked the Deputy Minister of Interior, responsible for Macedonia and Thrace, for his substantial contribution to the acceleration of required procedures, but also for issues that arise during the filming and for which cooperation with relevant ministries and services is necessary. .
“We support every development effort in Macedonia and Thrace. We support investment in investments that offer jobs in the film sector as well. So far, personally, I have contributed where needed – and in this spirit I will continue. We are watching closely. “everything is being done to transform the region of Thessaloniki and Northern Greece into a place where the creation of the seventh art will be continuous”, stressed Mr. Stavros Kalafatis after the meeting.
It is noted that, in the recent shooting of the film Bricklayer, produced for 24 million dollars, about 3,000 actors were employed and about 120 actors (actors, technicians and support staff) from Thessaloniki were employed.
