by

The Secretary General of Primary Health Care, Marios Themistokleous, announced the publication of instructions on when and with which vaccine the 3rd dose will be given to those who have been vaccinated, while informing about the course of vaccination coverage in our country.

As the secretary clarified, the instructions will be uploaded until tomorrow at 12 noon on the website emvolio.gov.gr and will concern many sub-cases.

Recall the booster doses for anyone over the age of 18 who do not belong to the immunosuppressed group: For those vaccinated with two doses of mRNA vaccine or Astrazeneca, it is recommended that the third dose be given six months after the second dose, either with Pfizer or half dose Moderna. For those vaccinated with a single dose of the J&J formulation, it is recommended that they be vaccinated after two months with mRNA vaccine or again with J&J.

He even explained that for those who received the first dose with mRNA vaccine and the second dose with Johnson & Johnson vaccine, a booster dose is not recommended.

“Third-day appointments today are expected to exceed 100,000,” he said.

So far, the beneficiaries are 2,827,574 citizens, which corresponds to 43.1% of the completed vaccinations. 922,000 vaccinations have already been performed, 32.6% of the beneficiaries and about 700,000 citizens have scheduled their appointment.

He also said that at the moment the vaccination program is in full development and there is the possibility for over 110,000 vaccinations per day. “Up to 5 days one can find an appointment”, he added.

Regarding the fully vaccinated citizens in our country, Mr. Themistokleous stated that this percentage amounts to 62.3% of the general population and 71.8% of the adult population.
