by

Two cases of child pornography, in Thessaloniki and Athens, were investigated by the Directorate of Cybercrime Prosecution (PPC). In the first case, a 23-year-old man was arrested in Thessaloniki, while in the second, in Athens, a regular procedure case was filed against a 28-year-old man.

According to the PPC, there were complaints about posted pornographic material of adults and minors on two online cloud service accounts, which was shared in various online communication rooms, as well as on social networking sites. The data were brought to the attention of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office and during the preliminary examination, four minor victims were identified, who confirmed that they were depicted in the visual material in question, while at the same time the electronic traces of the two accused were located.

In searches carried out at the homes of those involved in Thessaloniki and Athens, a total of three mobile phones, two computers, a hard drive and a USB were found and confiscated.

From the on-site investigation in the digital evidence, the involvement of the 23-year-old and the 28-year-old was identified. As for the first, a number of photos related to the case were found in his possession, an act for which he was arrested. The 28-year-old was not arrested because the conditions for a spontaneous procedure were not met.

The arrested person, with the case file against him, was taken to the competent prosecutor and referred to an investigator, while the regular procedure case file formed for the 28-year-old was submitted to the competent Prosecutor’s Office.
