According to a new US study, 41% of patients with long Covid report moderate sleep disturbances.
Nearly half of patients with symptoms of long-term Covid-19 experience moderate to severe sleep disturbance, while almost all experience moderate to severe fatigue, according to a new american scientific research.
Researchers at the Cleveland Clinic, led by Dr. Cynthia Pena Orbea, American conference “Sleep 2022” on sleep, as well as the relevant publication in the journal “Sleep”, analyzed data on 962 people with long Covid-19 during the period February 2021-April 2022.
At least two in three (67%) patients reported moderate fatigue and 22% severe fatigue for a long time (weeks or months) after coronavirus infection. 8% also reported persistent severe sleep disorders, while 41% reported moderate sleep disorders (difficulty falling asleep, insomnia, waking up at night or too early, poor sleep quality, etc.).
Greater chance of Sleep disorders after Covid-19 have overweight and obeseas well as those with pre-existing anxiety disorder.
