THE Minister of Health Thanos Plevris held a meeting today at the Ministry of Health on Syros hospital. The meeting was attended by the Cyclades MPs of New Democracy Giannis Vroutsis, Aikaterini Monogyou and Filippos Fortomas, the SYRIZA Cyclades MP Nikos Syrmalenios, the Cyclades Deputy Regional Governor George Leontaros Nos, Nikos of employees Katerina Kalogeraki, the representative of doctors Ioannis Gabriel and the Commander of the 2nd RAE Christos Roilos.
During the meeting, the Minister of Health made it clear that the Syros hospital is a key priority as it is one of the arm hospitals that exist in the island region.
As he characteristically pointed out, not only is it not degrading, but it is clearly following the path of upgrading.
This is evident, according to the Minister, from the fact that the Syros hospital receives the most funding of any other time. The prospects for his upgrade are evident both from his staff, which increased with the recruitments made from 2020 until today, and from the new staff to be hired immediately, based on a central planning and meeting needs.
“Apart from the emergency and the auxiliary staff that has been extended and will continue to be extended, the filling of the permanent positions will be done in the best possible way for the specific hospital to function smoothly and to continue to play its key role in the Cyclades.
Is for the first time in the near future, announcement of places exclusively for an island area with a specific way of regulation. In addition, we evaluate the suggestions of the Municipality, the deputies, the representatives of the hospital and in general of the competent bodies and persons, for a rational distribution of the staff. “We are preparing interventions for doctors, nursing staff and emergency travel with incentives that will be given, not only for the tourist season, but also with a long-term horizon”, underlined, among other things, the Minister of Health.
