Brazil recorded 303 deaths from Covid and, thus, reached 614,000 deaths from the disease since the beginning of the pandemic.

10,781 cases were also registered, bringing the total number of Sars-CoV-2 infections to 22,066,389.

Ceará, Espírito Santo and Maranhão did not update data on Covid’s deaths and cases.

The moving average of deaths is stable, that is, without variations greater than 15%, compared to data from two weeks ago. She is now 227 deaths a day.

The moving average of cases is now 9,289, an 18% reduction from what was documented two weeks ago.

Country data, collected up to 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between sheet, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate the numbers related to the pandemic of the new coronavirus. The information is collected by the consortium of press vehicles daily with the state Health Departments.

Vaccination data against Covid-19, also collected by the consortium, were updated in 25 states and the Federal District.

Brazil registered 1,234,936 doses of vaccines against Covid-19, this Friday. According to data from the state departments of Health, there were 203,340 first doses, 674,293 second doses. In addition, 357,389 booster doses were recorded.

There was a negative record of single doses, with -86. This was due to a revision of data from Ceará (-704), Mato Grosso do Sul (-2) and Paraná (-174).

In all, 158,650,689 people received at least the first dose of a vaccine against Covid in Brazil —127,749.911 of them have already received the second dose of the immunizing agent. Added to the single doses of Janssen’s vaccine against Covid, there are already 132,323,656 people with two doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

Thus, the country already has 74.37% of the population with the 1st dose and 62.03% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of Janssen vaccine. Considering only the adult population, the values are, respectively, 97.88% and 81.64%.

Even those who received two doses or one dose of Janssen vaccine must maintain basic care, such as wearing a mask and social distance, experts say.

The initiative of the consortium of press vehicles took place in response to the attitudes of the Jair Bolsonaro (non-party) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and took information off the air, with the interruption of the dissemination of total cases and deaths. In addition, the government released conflicting data.
