Asked about the possibility of the use of the mask becoming mandatory again, he replied that there is no need for such a measure at the moment

The wave of the pandemic in our country will very soon enter a de-escalation trajectory, as estimated by Mr Theoklis Zaoutis, speaking to SKAI and the show “Mismatches”.

The president of EODY explained that the number of cases is almost at its peak, if we take into account what happened in other countries that proceeded to lift measures before Greece.

He also pointed out that very soon we will see de-escalation while the NHS is not expected to be pressured regarding ICU admissions. “We are seeing an increase in the proportion of cases in 18-24 year olds who have gone to tourist destinations. These children will have a more gentle time and will not put pressure on the NHS”, he added, however he said that it is very important to avoid contact with older people.

Asked about the possibility of it happening again the use of the mask is mandatory he replied that there is no need for such a measure at the moment. “We are one of the few EU states that keep the mask on the mass media. We are following the epidemiological data and if something unforeseen happens it should be discussed, at the moment something like this is not happening”.

For her administration of the 4th dose he noted that based on current data, the evidence shows that over 60s offer more protection, and as age increases, so does protection. He also advised all other people who are immunosuppressed and at risk to do the 4th dose.
