Franklin: Michael Douglas will play Benjamin Franklin

by

His new role, on behalf of Apple TV+’s Franklin series, will take us back to the 18th century. There, the beloved actor will play Benjamin Franklin, one of the most prominent figures of the Enlightenment

The Franklin series will focus on the years Benjamin Franklin resided in France. The series is going to consist of a total of 8 episodes. In them we will meet Benjamin Franklin going through the 70s. He himself with his genius mind and reputation was the one who managed to convince the French monarchs to financially support, as much as they can, the fight for the liberation of America.

His “French” mission lasted about 8 years, which are still considered the most important in Benjamin Franklin’s career. Without his persistence and help, many today believe that America might not have been able to win the revolution.

The creators of the series originally had Michael Douglas in mind for the role

But no one was sure if the actor would accept their proposal. As it seems they finally got lucky, Michael Douglas immediately said yes to this new proposal and immediately started preparing for his role. The first image from the set has just been released and we see a Michael Douglas who has even managed to change his posture to suit the character he is playing.

In addition to him, we will see other favorite names in the series.

In particular, Noah Jupe, the child prodigy of cinema will play Temple Franklin, Benjamin’s grandson. At the same time, Ludivine Sagnier, who we recently met in the Lupin series, will play Madame Brillon, a well-known musician and composer of France, while Thibault de Montalembert, from the Call My Agent! series, will play a French diplomat of the time.
