The City of São Paulo begins next Monday (25) to apply the fourth dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 for people over 30 years old. According to municipal management, 514,000 residents are eligible for the new stage of vaccination.
To receive the fourth dose, in addition to age, the person must have taken the first booster of the vaccine — or third dose — at least four months ago.
According to the national schedule, this vaccination stage is allowed for people aged 40 years or older, but states and municipalities can change the schedule according to the availability of vaccines.
On July 12, the capital of São Paulo made the reinforcement available for people over 35 years old. Before that, on June 27, the fourth dose was released for those over 40.
Health professionals over 18 years of age and immunosuppressed adolescents and adults can also have the vaccine booster in the city.
Vaccination against Covid-19 and other diseases continues to be done at health posts and other places. According to Ricardo Nunes (MDB) management, all 470 (UBSs) Basic Health Units, three Health Centers, 17 Specialized Care Services and two megaposts will work.
On the city hall website, it is possible to access the complete list of places, in addition to having information about the vaccination queues.
Other cities already provide vaccination boosters for citizens over 30 years of age. An example is Manaus, which has already released the second vaccine booster for all adults.
The federal government indicates that the fourth dose should be made with the vaccines from Pfizer, Janssen or Astrazeneca, regardless of the dose applied previously.
