The report with its latest data pandemic in our country for the last week was published by EODY.

According to the data released to the public, the deaths of patients with Covid-19 appear to be particularly high, reaching 164 within one week, while both new cases (53,436) and hospital admissions show a marginal increase. The intubated patients are 85.

In the reporting week, 53,436 cases of COVID-19 were recorded (5,122 per million population: 1% weekly change) of which reinfections account for 23% of infections. The total number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic amounts to 5,188,890 of which 52.1% are women. 2The 𝑅𝑡 for the territory based on cases is estimated at 0.99 (95% CI: 0.82 – 1.07).

The total number of admissions to the territory’s hospitals in the reference week was 1,324 patients (7-month period: 189, 3% weekly change), while the total number of discharges amounted to 1,014 patients (7-month period: 145, – 7% weekly change). The number of intubated patients by the end of the reporting week is 85 (61.2% men) with a median age of 73 years and 96.5% having an underlying disease and/or age of 70 years or older.

In the reference week, 164 deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded (16 per million population: 12% weekly change) of which 11 (7%) died after at least 29 days from the date of laboratory confirmation of the COVID-19 infection, while from since the start of the epidemic, a total of 33,750 deaths have been recorded, with 96.1% having an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.

In the reference week, the positivity rate was 8.45% in a total of 632,238 laboratory tests (RT-PCR/Rapid-Ag) with a seven-day average of 90,320 samples (-9% weekly change).

From January 1, 2020 to October 30, 2022, in the laboratories that carry out tests for SARSCoV-2 and that systematically declare all the samples they test, a total of 12,920,136 have been tested (7-month AD: 8,720, -10% weekly change) clinical samples, while 84,634,634 samples have been tested by Health Units and Levels of the EODY that carry out Rapid Ag tests (7-month AD: 81,599, -8% weekly change).

What the wastewater “shows”.

During the week of October 24 to 30, 2022, increasing trends were observed compared to the week of October 17 to 23, 2022, in the average weekly viral load of SARS-CoV-2 in municipal wastewater in eight of the twelve (8/12) areas tested by the National Wastewater Epidemiology Network (EDEL) of the EODY and downward trends in four regions (4/12) of the EDL.

Net upward trends in the average weekly load of urban wastewater were observed in Patras (+176%), Volos (+113%), Alexandroupolis (+102%), Ioannina (+100%), Xanthi (+46%) , in Larissa (+41%) and Corfu (+38%), while the increase was marginal in Thessaloniki (+28%). Downward trends were observed in Agios Nikolaos (-57%), Heraklion (-52%), Attiki (-36%) and Chania (-36%).
