by

Brazil recorded, this Monday (7), 19 deaths from Covid and 4,639 cases of the disease. With this, the country reaches 688,444 lives lost and 34,897,510 infected by Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The moving average of deaths is now 34 per day, down 43% from two weeks ago. The moving average of cases is at 3,874 per day – a 25% drop in the same period.

There were no deaths in Alagoas, AmapĂ¡, ParanĂ¡ and Santa Catarina, and no cases in MaranhĂ£o and ParaĂba. In Mato Grosso do Sul and Sergipe, there were no new infections or deaths in the last 24 hours.

The country’s data, collected until 8 pm, are the result of a collaboration between Folha, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate figures related to the coronavirus pandemic.

The information is collected by the consortium of press vehicles daily with the State Health Departments.

In all, 182,147,675 people received at least the first dose of a vaccine against Covid in Brazil. Adding the single doses of Janssen vaccine, there are 171,611,150 people with both doses or one dose of Janssen vaccine.

Thus, the country already has 84.79% of the population with the 1st dose and 79.88% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of the Janssen vaccine.

To date, 105,191,114 people have taken the third dose, and 35,051,856 the fourth.

Sergipe did not update vaccine data. Acre, CearĂ¡, Mato Grosso and PiauĂ did not update any information for the consortium.

The initiative of the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the attitudes of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed newsletters about the disease and took information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of the totals of cases and deaths.
