Brazil recorded 72 deaths from Covid and 30,438 cases of the disease this Friday (18). With that, the country reaches 688,958 lives lost and 35,039,614 infected since the beginning of the pandemic.
The moving average of deaths is 36 per day, down 8% compared to two weeks ago. The moving average of cases is at 12,885 per day, up 235% over the same period.
AmapĂ¡, Santa Catarina and Sergipe did not register deaths. Mato Grosso do Sul remains without a record of deaths and those infected by the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
The country’s data, collected until 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between Folha, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate the numbers related to the new coronavirus pandemic.
The information is collected daily by the consortium of press vehicles with the state Health Secretariats.
In all, 181,893,230 people received at least the first dose of a Covid vaccine in Brazil.
Added to the single doses of Janssen’s vaccine, there are 171,920,831 people with both doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.
Thus, the country already has 84.67% of the population with the 1st dose and 80.03% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.
So far, 107,462,325 people have taken the third dose, and 35,904,648, the fourth.
The initiative by the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the actions of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and removed information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of total cases and deaths.
