Brazil recorded, this Saturday (19), 36 deaths from Covid and 20,406 cases of the disease. With that, the country reaches 688,994 lives lost and 35,060,020 people infected by Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The moving average of deaths is now 37 per day. In comparison with the data of two weeks ago, the average fell 4%. The moving average of cases is now at 15,049 per day – an increase of 302% over the same period.

Acre, EspĂrito Santo, Mato Grosso, Sergipe registered no deaths. Bahia and Mato Grosso do Sul did not register cases or deaths.

CearĂ¡, the Federal District, MaranhĂ£o, PiauĂ, Rio de Janeiro and Roraima did not disclose information on cases and deaths.

In April of this year, the consortium of press vehicles stopped updating vaccine information on weekends and holidays. The measure aims to avoid inaccuracies in the numbers reported to the reader.

The country’s data, collected until 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between Folha, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate numbers related to the coronavirus pandemic.
The information is collected daily by the consortium of press vehicles with the state Health Secretariats.

The initiative by the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the actions of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and withdrew information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of total cases and deaths.
