Brazil recorded 41 deaths from Covid and 17,710 cases of the disease this Monday (28). With that, the country reaches 689,601 lives lost and 35,229,745 infected since the beginning of the pandemic.

The moving average of deaths is 77 per day, up 132% compared to the data from 14 days ago. The moving average of cases is 23,364 per day, up 200% over the same period.

Of the states that updated the information, Acre, Alagoas, Amapá, Maranhão, Mato Grosso and Sergipe did not register deaths.

The country’s data, collected until 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between Folha, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate figures related to the coronavirus pandemic.

The information is collected daily by the consortium of press vehicles with the state Health Secretariats.

In all, 182,125,024 people received at least the first dose of a Covid vaccine in Brazil.
Added to the single doses of Janssen’s vaccine, there are 172,151,099 people with both doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

Thus, the country already has 84.78% of the population with the 1st dose and 80.13% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of the Janssen vaccine.

So far, 106,350,026 people have taken the third dose, and 37,170,462, the fourth.

The initiative by the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the actions of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and removed information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of total cases and deaths.
