Organ and Tissue Donation is done by offering the organs for transplantation from a fellow human being who is no longer alive.
One donor can save up to 8 patients who need organ transplants and improve their quality of life or even be saved through Tissue Donation.
The process is simple but invaluable.
It is done by registering at “Register of Donors» completing the “Organ and Tissue Donation Declaration”, which is available on the website of EOM (eom.gr) and at its offices (A. Tsocha 5, Athens).
The ways of submitting the statement are: a) in person at the headquarters of the EOM, b) by registered letter to the EOM, containing the statement with a certified original signature, c) electronically through the application of the EOM website and using the taxisnet credentials (username, password), d) in any other way, which ensures the authenticity of the signature and is announced by the EOM. Shortly after being registered in the organ donor register, the donor receives a card, on which his details and his register number are written.
In case you want to modify any of the details of your statement, you will have to delete and register again.
