Brazil recorded the highest average number of deaths from Covid since August 25 of this year. This Tuesday (20), the average reached 148 deaths per day, an increase of 32%, compared to the data of two weeks earlier. On August 25, the average was 150 per day.

This Tuesday, 216 deaths from Covid and 48,900 cases of the disease were recorded. With that, the country reaches 692,210 lives lost and 35,992,620 people infected by Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The data does not consider the state of Rio de Janeiro, which remains without updating its portal.

The moving average of Covid cases is also on the rise. It now stands at 39,767, up 24% from two weeks ago.

The data for the country, collected until 8 pm, are the result of a collaboration between Sheet, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate numbers related to the coronavirus pandemic. The information is collected daily by the consortium of press vehicles with the state Health Secretariats.

In all, 182,391,911 people received at least the first dose of a Covid vaccine in Brazil.

Added to the single doses of Janssen’s vaccine, there are 172,422,168 people with both doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

Thus, the country already has 84.90% of the population with the 1st dose and 80.26% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

So far, 107,162,546 people have already taken the third dose, and 38,893,094, the fourth.

The initiative by the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the actions of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and removed information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of total cases and deaths.
