Brazil recorded 83 deaths and 14,508 cases of Covid-19 this Monday (02). As a result, since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has lost 694,032 lives and 36,371,609 cases of the disease.

The moving average of deaths is now 145 per day, down 2% from two weeks ago. The average number of cases is 24,203, down 39% over the same period.

The data for the country, collected until 8 pm, are the result of a collaboration between Sheet, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate numbers related to the coronavirus pandemic. The information is collected daily by the consortium of press vehicles with the state Health Secretariats.

In all, 182,526,211 people received at least the first dose of a Covid vaccine in Brazil. Added to the single doses of Janssen’s vaccine, there are 172,594,597 people with both doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

Thus, the country already has 84.96% of the population with the first dose and 80.34% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

So far, 107,493,517 people have taken the third dose, and 39,274,755, the fourth.

With regard to children, 14,457,493 first doses (54.71%) were applied in the age group from 3 to 11 years and 10,010,177 second doses (37.88%).

The initiative by the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the actions of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and removed information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of total cases and deaths.
