Brazil recorded 183 deaths and 28,049 cases of Covid-19 this Thursday (5). As a result, since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has lost 694,625 lives and 36,456,156 cases of the disease.
The moving average of deaths is now 120 per day, down 22% from two weeks ago. The average number of cases is 21,371, down 46% compared to the same period.
The data for the country, collected until 8 pm, are the result of a collaboration between Sheet, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate numbers related to the coronavirus pandemic. The information is collected daily by the consortium of press vehicles with the state Health Secretariats.
In all, 182,564,577 people received at least the first dose of a Covid vaccine in Brazil. Added to the single doses of Janssen’s vaccine, there are 172,642,999 people with both doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.
Thus, the country already has 84.98% of the population with the first dose and 80.36% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.
So far, 107,603,990 people have already taken the third dose, and 39,382,676, the fourth.
With regard to children, 14,997,849 first doses (56.76%) were applied in the age group from 3 to 11 years and 10,417,300 second doses (39.42%).
The initiative by the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the actions of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and removed information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of total cases and deaths.
