Negative about the possibility of them opening later schools, in order to avoid the transmission of the flu virus that has been on the rise in recent days, he told SKAI,
Professor of Pathology – Infectious Diseases at the University of Patras Charalambos Gogos.
Mr. Gogos stated that the closing of schools is a big step with serious effects both on the educational system and on the psychology of children, which is why it is only taken in very difficult situations.
The professor pointed out the need to observe hygiene measures, with good hand washing and good ventilation of the premises, pointing out that children showing symptoms should not go to school.
Referring to the situation in the hospitals, he emphasized that there is a lot of pressure on the outpatient clinics of the hospitals.
“Unfortunately, people come to hospitals even when they need their primary care family doctor,” he said.
He clarified, however, that the pressure that exists today in hospitals has nothing to do with past situations. He estimated that in the next period the pressure will increase for this and as he mentioned, we should be ready.
