Connect SUS complete 12 days down after hacker attack

by

After the hacker attack on the Ministry of Health’s systems, Conecta SUS completes, this Wednesday (22), 12 days off the air. It is not yet possible to issue the proof of vaccination against Covid.

On the last 10th, the Ministry of Health suffered a hacker attack at dawn, taking its portal down. The Federal Police is investigating the case, but a preliminary analysis found that there was no seizure of data from the folder.

The main hypothesis of the authorities is that the criminal action was motivated by political activism on the internet, the so-called hacktivism. They assess whether information has been lost.

Afterwards, the Ministry of Health suffered another attack on the 13th. “In relation to this (attack), it was something minor. We are working to recover it as soon as possible,” said minister Marcelo Queiroga at the time.

Because of the first attack, the government even postponed the first ordinance on the entry of travelers into the country, which would take effect on December 11, the day after the attack. With Conecta SUS off the air, many Brazilians would not be able to download proof of vaccination from the application.

The vaccine passport would be required as an alternative for Brazilians and foreigners to enter the country. Otherwise, they could quarantine and RT-PCR test.

Soon after, however, the matter was judged by a PT action in the Federal Supreme Court (STF). The plenary of the court ended up following the rapporteur minister Luís Roberto Barroso, who imposed the collection of passports for the vaccine, at all borders, with the exception of Brazilians, who could be quarantined.

The ordinance with the new rules was published on Monday night (20), in an extra edition of the Diário Oficial da União.

Brazilians or foreigners residing in the country can enter with proof of vaccination against Covid-19 or will undergo quarantine. Those who left the country until November 14, when the first decision of the STF in this regard, were released from complying with the requirements.

The ordinance does not have exceptions that include the Health application off the air. Therefore, Brazilians who leave the country may have to undergo a quarantine period of five days, followed by a negative test for Covid-19, if they cannot prove the vaccines.

In addition to the official website, three systems have already been fully recovered: Influenza Epidemiological Surveillance Information System (SIVEP-Influenza), the E-SUS Notifica registration system and the Regulation System (Sisreg).

Sought, the folder reported that it is working to return systems. In addition to the Connect SUS, three others are also off the air: SNI-PNI (Information System of the National Immunization Program); Locates SUS, which gathers information such as a vacinometer and transfer of resources; and OpenDatasus, the complete SUS data repository.
