The first Mental Health Center in Attica, which businessmen, workers and their family members will be able to visit free of charge, will be operated by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and the “Thalpos-Mental Health” Agency.

The managing director of the Ministry of Health, Panagiotis Tsiganos, also spoke at the event, estimating that, as long as the schedules are respected, the start of the operation of the Day Center could also work in the spring.
The president of the chamber, Yiannis Hatzitheodosiou, emphasized that the issue of mental health in business is very serious and that requires drastic interventions. He also focused on the need to change society’s mindset and encourage people to visit specialists in order to effectively deal with any problems. In addition, he referred to the serious crises that hit the economy and business, resulting in increased pressure on professionals and workers.
The president of the organization “Thalpos-Mental Health”, Athena Passiou, explained that the Day Center will offer free psychological and psychiatric support, emphasis will be placed on prevention and counseling.
