Vaccination schedule in the country will start with immunization against Covid

by

The Ministry of Health will start the schedule of the 2023 National Vaccination Program with vaccination against Covid-19 in the risk group. The actions will start on February 27th.

For people at greater risk of developing severe forms of the disease, Pfizer’s bivalent vaccine will be used. This model is an immunizer update that uses the original strain of Sars-CoV-2 and the BA.1 omicron variant.

An intensification of the influenza campaign is also expected in April, before the arrival of winter, when low temperatures lead to an increase in cases of respiratory diseases.

There will also be a multi-vaccination action for polio and measles in schools, which should happen from May onwards.

According to the Ministry of Health, the stages and phases were organized according to existing stocks, new orders placed and delivery commitments made by vaccine manufacturers.

“[O calendário] can be changed, advanced or overlapped, if the delivery scenario is modified or as soon as new laboratories have their requests approved by Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency)”, said the folder, in a note.

The schedule was agreed upon with Conass (National Council of Health Secretaries), Conasems (National Council of Municipal Health Secretaries), and technicians and specialists from Ctai (Technical Advisory Chamber on Immunization) at the first meeting of the Tripartite Inter-managers Commission in 2023 ( CIT).
